Training philosophy

We believe that the emphasis of running a training barn should be quality not quantity. By running a smaller program, it enables us to tailor the instruction for the horse and rider in a highly personalized fashion. This lends to an effective training partnership where instruction meets the needs of each individual rider and their goals. Our philosophy is that lesson group sizes should be kept smaller with fewer than four horses per class. This allows the riders to maximize their instructional time in the saddle. Lessons are taught in a calm and positive manner which lends to the effective instructional delivery.

Elk Grove Riding Club is a full-service hands on training program. For clients with younger horses, we often teach a hybrid style of lesson. This includes demonstration by the coach on your young horse to riding your young horse when they are having a “baby” moment. We 100% stand behind our clients in their time of needs whether at a show or at home to ensure that their riding goals are met.

We welcome riders of all ages and aspirations. Whether you are an adult amateur with no show aspirations that is looking for quality program or a competitive AA or junior that is looking to move up the levels, we welcome you to our peaceful and friendly farm. We try to have a nice balance of going to an “A” show once a month while attending smaller shows with the young horses or less advanced clients or just good cheap practice to stay tuned.

We provide the option of full-service grooming which allows our clients the flexibility to ride without the time restraints of grooming before and after riding. Please inquire for grooming rates.
